Abstract

This paper presents the PELOPS traffic simulation tool. PELOPS is an acronym for Program for the dEvelopment of Longitudinal micrOscopic traffic Processes in a Systemrelevant environment. The paper describes the simulation techniques and results from an analysis which looked at the longitudinal dynamics and effects on driving comfort, driving safety, traffic efficiency, fuel consumption, and emissions.
