Abstract

This paper presents results of a before-and-after study monitoring the effect on travel behaviour of the introduction of a toll ring in the Norwegian city of Trondheim in 1991. The paper discusses various methodological issues and describes the changes in commuting, shopping and other journey purposes both in terms of the total amount of travel, and the temporal structure of the travel. The significance of these changes for energy use and the environment is discussed. (A)
