In June 1974 the number of licensed motercycles in South Africa was 110300, representing 3,6% of the counties licensed moter vehicle. Motercycle accidents during 1974 claimed 3019 casualties and 108 lives. The pattern of motercycle accidents in South Africa is similar to that in other countries.
