Abstract

This paper begins with a brief introduction to the history of road safety education in French schools. It then turns to present a study performed in the county l'Essone. The county has 455 primary schools for children between 6 and 11 years of age. The aim of the presented study was to assess the percentage providing their pupils with road safety education. Furthermore, it was the objective to identify methods used by teachers.
