Abstract

In connection with the change over to right hand traffic in Sweden, 3rd September 1967, the question of pedestrian safety in built up areas was actualised. The main emphasis was laid on the behaviour of the individual pedestrian toward motor traffic. Contrary to that, this report points out, that from an accident point of view, the faulty actions of the pedestrian are only of secondary interest. The primary cause is that the traffic environment offers situations, where faulty actions give risk to accidents.
