Abstract

In order to fight road accidents successfully the government in first place ought to establish a clear road safety programme based on the three E's: Engineering, Enforcement and Education in which the different government agencies receive their own specific task with respect to road traffic: Engineering and Enforcement can be completely effective only when Education is to be prepared soundly and receives the necessary attention. The Enforcement task by the police is outlined. It consists of police patrol, examination of traffic accidents and traffic control.
