Abstract

The study has attempt to evaluate relative "traffic quality" and to characterize traffic in various metropolitan areas. The results indicate that different metropolitan areas do have different traffic characteristics. However, there is little difference with respect to the level of acceleration. The type of roadway is perhaps the most important factor influencing the acceleration distribution functions.
