Abstract

Data measured with a simulated car-following experiment in which cost ratios, risk preferences, and a system state variable (time gap between vehicles) were systematically varied to measure their affects on operator attention. These data will be discussed, along with actual road data on visual sampling processes in freeway merging and lane changing.
