Abstract

The theory of traffic noise in terms of generalized shot noise has been developed by several authors. This paper considers the effect of nongeometric attenuation, represented as a negative exponential absorption factor, on the calculation of cumulants of the noise intensity. This absorption would arise from sound propagation through tree zones or shrubbery.
