Abstract

In rural areas many young adults are involved in road accidents during the weekend due to alcohol usage. The information and mass media campaign aiming to reduce the drinking driving behaviour amongst young drivers usually focus on the adverse consequences this behaviour may have either in terms of accidents or in term of legal consequences. The authors stress for another approach aiming at the modification of attitudes by emphasising the negative social and personal consequences of drinking.
