This Operational Plan has been developed to identify initiatives to be carried out over the next four years as Austroads works with other stakeholders and partners. Austroads’ vision is to be a leader in providing high quality information, advice and the fostering of research in the transport sector. Its purpose is to: * Promote improved Australian and New Zealand transport outcomes; * Provide expert technical input to national policy development on road and road transport issues; * Promote improved practice and capability by road agencies; and * Promote consistency in road and road agency operations. The Austroads Strategic Plan identifies eight areas of priority that will form the focus of Austroads efforts through to 2016. A program management approach has been used to identify, deliver and manage actions addressing the outcomes sought. Further information on each of the programs is identified in this plan. The plan will be updated annually reflecting any changes in priority or Austroads operating environment with regular reports on progress provided to the Austroads Board at each of its meetings.
