Abstract

The increase in leisure time generates additional traffic and especially traffic of motor vehicles on weekends and during holidays in particular. People spend ± 60% of their leisure time at their place of residence. The lack of space is evident in many cities. It is necessary to redesign the towns also as regards recreational places by planning towns and traffic in an integrated way. Recreation in the immediate vicinity and travelling on weekends account for + 30% of leisure time activities.
