Abstract
Effect of speed limits on driver behaviour in Austria has been investigated. Method of research and results are concisely and clearly presented and summarized. A high interdependence appears to exist between all factors concerned, such as reasonability of the limit, presence of other warning signs, and road type. Speed limits should not be too low, and more attention must be given to road type. Temporary speed limits were separately examined.
