Abstract
Many studies show the effectiveness of the use of daytime running lights (DRL) in the reduction of accidents. The main data base used in Sweden shows a decrease of accident of 6%. An exact cost benefit analysis is not yet made in the different countries. In general an increase in operating costs of 0. 2 to 3% is considered.
