Abstract

Like main roads for car-traffic in the cities, there should be main slow-traffic routes within the suburbs and neighbourhoods. Cars are directed to less-bike areas. This system has been worked out by the author as consultant for the community of Spijkenisse, a fast growing suburb near Rotterdam. The choice for this model is explained with some theoretical suburb-models.
