Abstract

Groups of five areas with good, reasonable and moderate quality of public transport and customer provisions have been compared. For public transport there were criteria like spatial coverage, mode, frequency, walking distance etc. Areas with good public transport and customer provisions showed 20% less car ownership than areas with moderate levels. Some conclusions in the planning and policy field are presented.
