A total of 37 professional drivers and 38 domestic drivers took part in a study designed to evaluate the safety and usability of the Autoguide computerized route guidance system. Each driver was instructed in the use of the system and performed a series of tasks including driving a car under guidance to, and within central London. Fifty of the drivers were tested during daylight hours and 25 tested under night- time conditions. The findings from the work are presented in this report.
