Abstract

This paper describes how vectorized road network database creation and updating is a very difficult task, demanding a lot of time, effort and money. During development and constant improvement of the tracking and mapping solutions the authors have developed procedures for accurate description of vehicle trajectories, and subsequently automatic computation of the roadnetwork map from scratch, or update of the map. Using such technology could enable considerable savings for mapping companies and faster map updates for road users.
