Abstract

The daily route to work or other often used routes conduct a typical behavior in the driver: since he does not like to stand in front of red traffic lights, the driver tries to deduce coherences between his driving style and the traffic lights’ phases. In consequence he adjusts his speed at thewell known traffic lights to a value that allows him to pass them withoutwaiting. This paper presents a concept implemented as a smartphone application, which is acting like a co-driver and tries to recommend at any timethe ideal speed to the driver, based on previous collected information.
