Abstract

A unique approach, based on advanced infrared techniques, to automatically identify vehicles is considered in terms of overall system requirements. The conceptual system could remain operational over the environmental conditions under which motor vehicles may be required to operate. This system concept requires no active elements on the vehicle and may be considered almost tamper-proof.
