Abstract

Automatic vehicle guidance (AVG) in public transport is one of the ways to reduce costs, in particular the costs of personnel. At this moment, a confusing amount of new automatic transport systems is on the market, while the possibilities of the existing systems have not been paid much attention to. In this study, public transport systems are divided into main groups and their possibilities for automation of the traffic and transport processes are analysed. The demand for transport is also dealt with. The connection between the demands and the offered transport systems should give answers to the possibilities for automation in public transport. (A)
