Abstract

Increased safety of today's automobile is the direct result of simulated crash studies made by manufacturers and participated in by associated activities. This paper highlights the effectiveness of seat belts in minimizing injury to passengers and drivers. Other protective devices and improvements are also discussed in relation to the research program and continuing study of factors contributing to accident casualties.
