Abstract

Loss of vehicle control accounts for a significant number of high severity accidents involving single vehicles in non-urban areas and, research indicates, is often directly attributable to the driver. In order to identify specific aspects of the driving task are not adequately performed so that countermeasures can be developed, clinical approaches have been applied to the study of driver behaviour, and the results are presented.
