Abstract

The aim of the report was to review and assess the potential offered by the automobile insurance institution in regard to road accident prevention in the framework of integrated safety programmes. There are the following chapters: I. Introduction, II. Comparison of the automobile insurance systems in OECD countries, III. The insurance system and methods used for risk evaluation, IV. Pricing and compensation practices, V. Non- pricing prevention practices, VI. Young newly licensed drivers and insurance practices, VII.The insurance system in the context of road and traffic institutions, and VIII. Development of insurance involvement in preventive action.
