Abstract

Two types of surveys of passenger car and light truck rear lighting system malfunction were made. The major objective of the surveys was to determine the relative frequency of malfunctions on vehicles with single and multiple compartment lamps. The finding support previous work, using normally operating system effectiveness by separating rear signal lamps by their function and colour coding.
