Abstract

Rates of daily automobile use in the tristate region surrounding New York City were related to several projectable variables in an effort to determine whether use would change significantly in the future. Rates of daily automobile trips, mileage, and time per automobile, which were obtained from home-interview data, were cross classified according to income, automobiles per household, persons of 16 years or older per household and density.
