Abstract

A series of lateral-impact tests were conducted during the worst impact angle with respect to automobile intrusion using the SAE moving-barrier. Automobiles were impacted at 20 m/h, and the impact angle was varied from 50° to 80°. The maximum vehicle intrusion occurred in the tests with a 60° impact angle.
