Abstract

Many different kinds of information services are used for the Intelligent Transport System (ITS). The circumstances of service users change in accordance with their activities, and the differences between people require that a variety of services be offered. An ITS information service platform has been developed in order to provide information services based on a user's profile and on where the user is. This platform provides seamless, one-to-one, and one-stop services. A seamless service offers different services according to the user's circumstances, such as the terminal used. A one-to-one service provides services according to a user's profile. And a one-stop service gathers information from many systems and provides an integrated service. This paper describes the ITS service concept and a model of an ITS information service platform. It also describes a service application that uses this service platform to provide the services of a travel assistant.
