Abstract

This article pleads for a ban of using dipped headlight in the day-time based on the following considerations; (1) traffic in Holland includes more categories of vehicles than in other countries because of the great number of mopeds and bicycles; dipped headlights overemphasize the position of the motor car; (2) possibility for oncoming traffic of being dazzled, especially people on mopeds or bicycles wearing glasses (3) existing dipped headlights are too strong and cause visual trouble and (4) false feeling of safety for the driver.
