Abstract

This paper provides a general overview of aggregate resource areas within and close to the region of Toronto and Hamilton-Niagara, on provincial legislation regulating aggregate extraction, pavement engineering materials specifications, and aggregate production and suitability. Information is also presented on aggregate needs for past provincial highway corridor projects, and estimated needs for future provincial highway corridors in the region.
