Abstract

Besides the quantitative aspect of mental load, there is the qualitative aspect, that is the nature of processed information. The ability to filter out non-pertinent information is a necessary condition for an optimum use of the processor, working at a given level of intensity. The author states that performance measures, operator interviews and electrophysiological records are complementary methods.
