Abstract

Research on pedestrian accidents has shown that there are 3 areas which require detailed analysis to assist in effective development of countermeasures. These include (1) patterns of behaviour in different age groups (2) the role of alcohol consumed by the pedestrian, and (3) location and site features which impinge on accidents.
