Abstract

Modern passenger cars are equipped with measurement technology to control the function of engine and different safety systems. In addition, the requirement of improved ride comfort is growing with means that the vibrations of the vehicle has to be minimized. One source of vibrations are unbalanced rotating parts of the vehicle due to wheels and drive shafts. To compensate such unbalances the present technology is based on measurements off the road and the dynamic behaviour of the vehicle system is not taken into account.
