Abstract

The intent of this study was to correlate the geometric properties of rigid, concrete median barriers and the trajectory parameters of a class of impacting automobiles with the resulting trajectory and vehicle attitude parameters after the impact of the vehicle and the barrier. These correlations were to be performed by the analysis of high speed movies of an automobile-barrier impact simulation done by scale model vehicles and barrier.
