Base-rate fallacy : who is wrong about what in what way?

Abstract

In five experiments subjects estimated the probability for an "incorrect" identification of one of two events with given base-rates and accuracies. From these results and an overview of previous studies it is suggested that problems used in this type of study can be separated in 3 classes of tasks, which are discussed.
