Abstract

A computerized study, including the effects of axial forces and material strain rate sensitivity on dynamic plastic behaviour, for collapsing plane frame structures involving large deflections is presented within the context of elementary beam theory. Three example problems of which one is related to automobile crashworthiness of a special vehicle front structure are presented.
