Abstract

The reasoning behind the United Kingdom Medical Commission on Accident Prevention to edit the booklet "Medical aspects to fitness to drive" is outlined. The booklet contains a.o. the recommendations on which driver's fitness to hold a licence is assessed. The paper considers the extent to which driving is an automatic function and the question of a need to examine the possibility of a dynamic testing being a more meaningful assessment than static testing.
