The traffic safety in the surroundings of elementary schools and on the routes leading to these schools is - unfortunately - mostly very poor. Think for example about the chaotic scenes at times children are brought to school or picked up from it. In addition, the location of the school near a sustaining route can cause serious problems. Municipalities are often made reproaches for this. However, the solution to the problem could also lay in the hands of the parents bringing their children. Accommodation of the behaviour of this group of people in the mentioned situations could partly solve the problem. This research thesis describes the development of a convenant in which parents are confronted with their own behaviour in traffic. By making use of agreements, we endeavour to make the traffic situations safer in the surroundings of elementary schools. (Author/publisher)
