Abstract

In this paper the objectives of the project INITIATIVE MOBILITY 21 are described. The paper identifies the Bavarian approach to generate public private partnerships, reports about experience gained and lessons learnt. The key issue of INITIATIVE MOBILITY 21 is to provide ameliorated traffic information services to sustain mobility for a better life of the citizens. Business cases and opportunities in the field of public-private co-operation for added value information systems focusing on the German and Bavarian ITS market are described and recommendations are given.
