After a period of relatively small investments in new major roads, the transportation budget for 1979 shows a clearly marked new approach. Work on bottle-necks in the motorway system will be sped up. On the other hand use of public transport will be stimulated by, for instance, Park-and-Ride projects. Several studies on public means of transport are announced and traffic safety projects will be established. The take-over of deficits on public transport operation will decrease, but investments in new PT infrastructure will be much higher.
