Abstract

An investigation is done into the behaviour of cars involved in head-on collisions at various speeds and into the optimum design of the structural frame with a view to reducing occupants injuries to a minimum. Details are given of the structural design of a front wheel drive car and its behaviour in head-on and rear and impact tests at various speeds.
