Abstract

Issues relating to road safety are addressed, including the rate of technological change exceeding the rate of people's ability to adapt, the effects of driver frustration, the need to design technology to suit human capabilities, and managing the increasing number of older drivers. The need for global standardisation of vehicle displays/controls, highway guidance systems and driver licensing requirements is discussed.
