Abstract

One hundred and two hospitalized head injured patients rep- resenting a broad range of severity were studied over one year. Their performances on an extensive battery of neurop- sychological and psychosocial measures were compared to those of an uninjured group of friends at 1 and 12 months post injury. The results suggest that head injured patients experience a broad range of cognitive and psychosocial difficulties, the extent of which relates to head injury severity. Patients recover from their initial losses.
