Abstract

The purpose of the study described is to show why a vehicle begins a head- to- tail skid and how the manufacturer can correct this phenomenon. Using the results obtained with a mathematical model representing the transitory behaviour of a vehicle, the author shows that, by adjusting the running gear, the limit at which a car begins a head- to- tail skid can be pushed back.
