Abstract

These proceedings are the eighth in a series reporting on an annual seminar on behavioural research in road safety. These seminars, which are supported by the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions, are intended to encourage the exchange of ideas among those working in the behavioural research programme in this country as well as in similar programmes abroad. The familiar themes were all represented, with papers on risk taking, fatigue, driver training, ageing, attitudes and individual differences. New subjects include the role of drugs in accident causation, and medical issues involved in assessing fitness to drive, traffic degeneration, research policy and traffic psychology.
