Abstract

It is really worth while to make further investigations into the scope offered by electronic detection and communication systems, and to develop the software necessary for road traffic, so as to make it possible to supply those who are about to plunge into the bustling roads with detailed information on road-traffic conditions in such a way that they may decide to switch from a normal route. It will have to be ascertained to what extent road users will respond to this. Even the best system will fail if it finds no audience. This can be ascertained, however, only with the help of full-scale experiments, which must obviously be based on urban situations. There seems to be little doubt about the need to give further thoughts to this.
