This is a report on the results of a written interview to the behavioural aspects of Automatic Vehicle Guidance (AVG). The AVG systems are systems which partly or totally take over the tasks of the driver. The systems can influence driver behaviour; they should support and not interfere with driving behaviour. The aim of the enquiry was to get an insight into the needs of the drivers, their way of driving and the relationship between these two. It is concluded that in general drivers can be divided into different groups with different needs and way of driving and therefore also with a different reaction to the AVG. It is shown that the needs of the drivers do not differ on three journeys studied. These three journeys studied.
