Abstract
The lack of safety in traffic for children is a big problem. There are more children treated in a hospital for a traffic accident, than any other kind of accident. The threat of traffic has an effect on children in the form of fear, insecurity and almost in all cases a limitation of their mobility. This can be positively influenced by legal measures, adaptation of the traffic environment and modification of the behaviour of the other road users. It can also be tried to influence the behaviour of the child. Efforts in the direction of the latter are discussed.
