Abstract

Along different ways it is tried to find a useful and reliable system for the judgement for the acceptance of noise by road traffic in living-situations. Starting from the situation in the hot periods of the year, in which on opens the windows, it is concluded that a sound level of 45 db (A) gives no sound hindrance. Is the level 75 db (A) or more than the situation is unacceptable. On the basis of these data some starting points are formulated for a zoning-system along roads, and the most important acoustical aspects of this system are explained.
