Abstract
The relation between traffic flow and mean speed, plays an important role in traffic assignment analysis. In this report, new speed/volume functions for a number of Swedish standard roads are presented. The function form used is well-adapted for the underlying data. It also decreases monotonically under increasing traffic flow. This is an important property in traffic assignment analysis. The new functions are in some respects shown to be superior to functions that previously have been determined by Transek AB. (A)
